Since its independence in 1947, India has been facing the problem of insurgency and terrorism in different parts of the country. Insurgency has been taken to mean an armed violent movement, directed mainly against security forces and other government targets, to seek territorial control, terrorism has been taken to mean an armed violent movement directed against government as well as non-government targets, involving pre-meditated attacks with arms, ammunition and explosives against civilians, and resorting to intimidation tactics such as hostage-taking and hijacking, but not seeking territorial control.Terrorism- One of the major crisis to be solved in India. No doubt, India has been suffering a lot from this problem since earlier days of freedoms. But today, despite the improvements, we see more and more disasters and assassinations. terrorist is a person who creates fear and panic. Terrorism usually is of two kinds. There is political terrorism which seeks to achieve its political end by creating fear and panic on a large scale. There is also criminal terrorism which indulges in kidnappings in order to extort huge amounts by way of ransom.
Political terrorism is much more dangerous and its consequences can be disastrous. Political terrorists are well organized and well-trained and it often becomes difficult for the law enforcing agencies to arrest them in time. They indulge in senseless violence on a large scale in order to intimidate the people and the government. Hijacking of aero planes, arson, robberies, murder of eminent personalities, shooting down of innocent people indiscriminately, use of transistor bombs and other explosives, spreading of rumors’ etc. are the various devices used by terrorist organizations in order to achieve their political ends. Terrorists constantly change their hide-outs and their tactics in order to escape arrest and punishment. When arrested, they try to commit suicide or are killed by their own close associates. They may think that they are patriots, but in reality they are antisocial or criminal elements who are exploited by clever politicians to achieve their own ends,Terrorists are usually young, while the brains behind them are old, seasoned politicians who co-ordinate and guide their activities. They are fanatics and extremists who act with great fervor and zeal, but studies reveal that if apprehended alive, a terrorist loses his fervor as quickly as he had acquired it. When he has time to think, he feels he has been stupid or that he was misled. We have to disabuse our minds that terrorists who belong to the political class are patriots.
TERRORISM IN INDIA-It is a bit unfortunate that we as a country are facing hostilities from our neighbouring countries since independence. Pakistan since its creation has always harboured terrorist elements against India with an intention to destabilise our country. China the Big Brother supports Pakistan in their endeavour to divide India. We face threats from Bangladesh and from Sri Lanka in the South. Since we have open borders with Nepal, terrorists use Nepal as easy entry and exit points. But not everything can be done from these foreign bases. So they take advantage of the unemployed youth and others who fall easy prey to their indoctrination and create local groups who forment trouble in all cities across India. They take help from some political class and the corrupt officials provide fodder for their entry and exit from India. So Terrorism is not about Muslims only and their quest for Jihad. Not all Muslims are terrorists and not all terrorists are Muslims. The terrorists that we encounter today are not men who commit evil acts out of revenge. For these men indoctrinated by outfits like the Al Qaeda and the Dawood gangs, terrorism is a full fledged profession. For these terrorists who are invisible, they have no Agenda. They do it in the name of Jihad or some linguistic or religious cause, which a common man does not identify himself with. India habitually points fingers at Pakistan which is the hotbed and the epicentre of terrorism all around the world. But merely pointing fingers will not help matters. For a small country like Pakistan to be able to infiltrate groups of Indians and recruit them to the terrorist's cause indicates failures of the intelligence on the other hand. We have to look into this fact. There is no co-ordination between the central intelligence agencies and the states. Each points a finger at others each time a bomb blast takes place. This is matched by the flaws of the criminal justice system, which is rudimentary by the standards of mature democracies. Whether it is the Bombay bomb blasts of 1992 or the Gujarat riots in 2002, justice takes many years to deliver. Justice has neither been done, nor seen to be done. India needs to be tough but not reactionary to the causes of terrorism. It is primarily attributable to Islamic, Sikh, and Naxalite radical movementsThe regions with long term terrorist activities today are Jammu and Kashmir, Mumbai, Central India (Naxalism) and Seven Sister States (independence and autonomy movements) I still cant believe that Cama hospital staff who were their benefactor who had served them water when they asked for it. The maternity rooms were tensed with young mothers with their new born babies, by not giving them the chance to cry by feeding them continuously. The terrorists entered Chabad House, Mumbai headquarters of the ultra-orthodox Hasidic Jews, situated inside the better-known Nariman House, near the southern tip of the city, on the night of Nov 26 and laid a bloody siege right till the afternoon of Nov 28. It was one of the last places to be freed of the terrorists. The perpetrators cut short Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg's life, head of the Mumbai headquarters of the Chabad House and his pregnant wife Rivka and four others. Twenty one people were killed and over 100 were injured in three terror blasts which rocked downtown Mumbai within minutes of each other on 13th July 2011.The first explosion took place in south Mumbai's Zaveri Bazaar, near the famous Mumbadevi temple, in which some people were injured. The bustling market also has a number of jewelry shops.
The second explosion was reported in a taxi in Dadar area in central Mumbai. The third blast was reported from south Mumbai's Opera House in Charni Road after 7 pm.All three places are busy commercial and residential areas, and were bustling with people and traffic during the evening peak hours when the explosions took place. It’s not about Kasab, it’s about our security and the efficiency of our intelligence agencies.26 November 2008 remains the most horrified memory for every Indian but unfortunately, the condition doesn't really change, The Maharashtra Politics still cribbing over petty issues, the real issues are subsidized, the value of human life is lost, the security conditions almost just the same.Well, better late tham never I think it’s now high time we need to answer the terrorists who are having fun with their guns and bombs. The terrorists are overlooking a fact that India is a country of braves and fighters. Terrorism in India is crossing its limits day by day. Now what is important is that the security has to be so tight and keep a strict and active eye of police checking on the airports, seaports, railway stations and metro stations. We need full proof armed forces in all the major cities. We need to wake up our government and politicians to stop fighting among themselves for the higher seats, rather show their potential in big issues to deserve those seats. When its time for the politicians to tackle the problem they start stepping down from their positions. Every time when there is a bomb blast many innocent lives are lost and there is no accountability, no punishment of culprits, no stringent law to protect its own citizens. What we get is the usual answer “We will deal with terrorism firmly” A useless and impotent government worries about the political fallout if the real culprits get punished. We have plenty of Confidence in this country, but we are a little short of good men to place our Confidence in.
The uncertainty of the danger belongs to the essence of terrorism.
